TRAUMA-INFORMED EMDR
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly successful treatment for trauma that uses knowledge from neuroscience to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories.
I use EMDR as a treatment approach, or as part of an overall treatment plan to help address:
trauma and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
anxiety and panic attacks
depression
stress
phobias
sleep problems
Grief and loss
Chronic pain
self-esteem and performance anxiety
International Client-centred Psychotherapy
I offer Non-judgemental, compassionate, and collaborative counselling to support you through life’s challenges in order to improve health and happiness. There is no one approach that is right for everyone and I work with you to integrate different therapies to help address your needs and goals.
INTENSIVES
I offer intensive treatment in which multiple EMDR and/or Flash sessions are completed all at once, over several hours up to consecutive days to help you accomplish important steps in your healing process.
New research shows that intensive therapy for trauma and stress can be extremely effective on symptom reduction and that clients can make as much progress in the condensed format as in standard weekly sessions. . Other benefits of an intensive approach to treatment include:
Reducing the amount of time in therapy and living with trauma symptoms
While there is a larger upfront cost, the shorter duration of treatment overall can save money over time.
Clients can access therapy online or through travel taking advantage of access to an excellent treatment option
Rather than having to schedule sessions on a weekly basis, clients can arrange for time off work, school or child care for the duration of treatment.
While many clients are good candidates for an intensive, some may do better with an ongoing therapeutic relationship. In some cases, an existing client may choose to pursue an intensive at a specific point in the therapeutic process. Please contact me to discuss whether intensive treatment might be right for you.
